Nest Protect Still not in Home App?

Dan1111

Online I see plenty of posts about how you can add Nest Protect to Google Home, but I have now 4 Nest Protects in my home and none of them show within Google Home, even the new app, only in the Nest App. Is there anything I can do to change this?

Hi @Dan1111

I also have Nest Protects and they are only available to show in the Nest app.

Hi Jenelyn,

I suspect that they both do still need help, along with the rest of us that bought the Nest Protect expecting to be able to manage it with the Google Home app. There is little point to a smart device if it can't interact with anything else. Does Google have a timeline for when the Nest Protect smoke alarms will be able to be managed by the Google Home app so that we can do things like have them turn on lights if the alarm is activated.

I've read Google is not going to migrate nest protect over to Home. Infact their slowly & quietly phasing it out and eventually cease to support the device.

Hi folks,

We love that you're interested with the Nest Protects being available in the Google Home app, but we don't have any news to share about its timeframe of availability. So keep an eye out for news and updates. Also, please be assured that our product team is working non-stop with different partners to bring the best to the Google Nest devices and services. So, please let our product team know about it by sending feedback.

In the meantime, I'll go ahead and lock this thread within 24 hours. If you run into any more questions in the future, please feel free to create a new thread.

I appreciate your help, @JillG and Jenelyn.

All the best,

Zoe
