Nest Protect won’t connect

So I changed my internet wifi and none of my protects will connect. Nest thermostat took all of 10 seconds to update, doorbell took maybe a minute. Reading about the protects, am I to believe that I need to physically take them off the ceiling, put them close to my router, uninstall them from the app, reinstall them…… if they connect at all, then reinstall them to their places on the ceiling. That’s a very convenient system. Last Nest product I’ll buy.

Open the Nest app and tap the gear in the upper right corner of the home screen.

 Scroll down until you see the Protects and tap on it

Select a Protect and tap on its name

Look for the Wi-Fi connection under Device Options and tap on it

Follow the instructions.
