We had smoke in the kitchen while cooking yesterday. Silenced the alarm, then smoke cleared (app confirmed this). But 36 hours later, all 10 Nest Protects in the house are still flashing yellow, and when I push the button, it still says, "Heads up! There's smoke in the kitchen."
When I try to run a test, the app says everything is fine, but the test routine never sounds. All hard-wired, if that matters.
The only solution I'm finding online is to take them all down, factory reset them, and re-add them to my home. Please, Google, tell me there's a better solution when your dodgy product forgets to properly clear an alarm. I shouldn't have to get on a ladder because your software is buggy.

I too am waiting for a response here! I also have 10 Nest Protects, four of which require a very tall ladder to access and I am getting too old for much ladder time. If there is not a clear, and reasonable response to this as opposed to take them all down and reset them, I need to start looking for replacement devices.
