Nest alarms & the Away feature

Is is required to have the location status set as "away" in order to receive notifications of fires from Nest Protect to the app?

Does the app always have to be  connected to wifi to receive notifications?

Thank you for posting. 

For your concern about your questions to set away, you can use mobile data to receive notifications when you leave your home. It isn't necessary to be connected to your WiFi; just make sure that your notifications toggled are "on" on your phone and the Nest App as well. The location unfortunately needs to be on in order for the Nest app to report properly when you come or leave your home.
