Nest protech keeps beeping

Jamzalot

I have a nest protech that we had bought a couple of years ago. I just got around to installing it a couple of days ago. When I completed the setup I noticed it would keep beeping even though the battery tester said they were good. Did a health check up and everything came back good. We had purchased 2 at the time and the one that I did install awhile ago never beeps and still on the original batteries. I replaced the batteries on the newly installed one, still issue is present.

I performed a factory reset and still the  issue is present, I pretty sure it on the latest firmware.

Hi @Jamzalot,

Thank you for posting in the community. I’m sorry to hear that your Nest Protect keeps beeping even after you have replaced the batteries. I appreciate you confirming the troubleshooting steps you have taken. I'm happy to assist.

To gather the necessary information, please answer the following questions:

  • What color is the Nest Protect light?
  • How many beeps does the Nest Protect emit each time: a single beep or a double beep?
  • When you replaced the batteries in the Nest Protect, were they the Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA (L91) batteries?

I'll be waiting for your reply.

Best regards,

Derick.

Hi there!

Thanks for your reply. I appreciate you confirming that your Nest Protect is beeping once with a blue light, that you've used the correct Energizer L91 batteries, and that the self-test indicates everything is fine.

The team would like to learn more about this situation. When you get a chance, please fill out this form and let us know when you’re finished. We’ll have someone reach out to you via email from there.

Best regards,

Derick.
