Nest protect will not factory reset

My best protect will not do a factory reset to join the network. It is version 3.0.5.3 

i have followed all the instructions and tried to factory reset 10 times - it completes the cycle but does not reset and states living room on wake up, 

we changed broadband provider and the setup instructions from Google advise to reset the device to join the network - but it will not complete the task. Absolutely madness.

Double-check the reset process:

  • Make sure you're following the correct reset instructions for your specific Nest Protect model. There might be slight variations depending on the generation of your device.

Try a different power source (if applicable):

  • If your Nest Protect is battery-powered, replace the batteries with fresh ones.
  • If it's wired, try disconnecting it from the power source for a few minutes and then reconnecting it.

Consider physical button malfunction:

  • The button press might not be registering correctly. Try pressing the button with more force and holding it for the entire duration as instructed.
