New WiFi Router and nothing will not connect

Eyecake

I have tried for 2 weeks unsuccessfully to connect 7 Nest Protects ,1 Doorbell and ! Outdoor camera. I have followed all the help advice both from Nest and TP  ( TP Link Deco XE77 AX5400 ) to connect the protects from resetting to just trying to add to network. I used the same Network name and password but IP address because old was Apple Airport Extreme 10 Network  and TP uses 192 network. Everything else in the house is working perfectly where you just find the network and enter the password including 3 Nest learning Thermostats. I have searched and followed all the instructions but nothing has worked. we downsized and moved to our retirement home and spent a lot of money on these nest products and I cannot find a direct help number for Google and will consider bringing the products to their European H?eadquaters which is near my home in Dublin with a consumer affairs journalist to highlight how little help is available. It shouldn't be this hard!

Please help

Hello Eyecake,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble connecting the Nest devices to the WiFi network. Let’s check it out.

Are you getting any error messages when connecting the Nest devices to the WiFi router?

If you haven’t done so already, set the WiFi router to use the settings below:

  • Enable 802.11 b/g/n if you have an 802.11 ac router.
  • Set your Wi-Fi router's DHCP lease time to at least 2 hours.
  • Turn on your router's Power Save Mode (PSM) if you have a Nest thermostat.
  • Enable IPv6, since you have a Nest Protect.
  • On your Wi-Fi router, turn on multicast if you're adding additional Nest devices.

Here’s a handy guide to the recommended Wi-Fi network and router settings.

Afterwards, follow the instructions below to update the WiFi connection on the Nest devices:

Keep me posted.

Best,

Lance
