Smoke detector new but already midlife

Just bought a smoke detector.  The sticker on the back says it was manufactured 6 years ago so its 60% through its useful life.  I feel a bit scammed by this.

Perhaps you should contact the seller for a replacement.

If you bought it directly from Google, you could try contacting Google Store Support:

While you're here, take a look at some of the threads to see issues people are having. It might be better to return for a refund rather than replacement. Google has left a skeleton crew to keep the nest protect alive just enough to keep sales going.
