Why does the nest protect battery die so fast

The batteries die very fast and I use lithium

Same problem here, google closed the other thread about this problem hoping it would go away.  Very annoying.

 

I either have to spend another £400 on alarms by google or just get the fire angel for £15 each.

@DavidToma38, thanks for reaching out to the Community. I’d be happy to help you with Nest Protect. Let’s check it out. A few more questions: do you have a wired or battery-powered Nest Protect? What is the software version of the device? To check, go to the Nest app > Device Settings > Technical Info > Software.

 

Battery life varies greatly depending on usage: how many times Nest Protect detects smoke or carbon monoxide (CO) and sounds the alarm, how often Path light turns on, where the Nest Protect is placed in the home, etc.

 

Here are some things you can try to extend the battery life:
