Google has had two distinct apps for its smart home ecosystem for years and years and years now. They have slowly migrated products so that they can be managed in the Google Home app. However, even though the Nest Protect smoke detectors have been around for many, many years, Google STILL hasn't migrated them over from the Nest app to the Google Home app. It is honestly ridiculous to keep forcing customers to use two different apps to manage what is supposedly one cohesive ecosystem. Through the years there have been rumors and press articles that Nest Protect and Google Home integration is just around the corner, but it's now the middle of 2024 and we still have... nothing. Is Google ever going to do this? People will all benefit from being able to use only ONE app to manage everything.
