nest protect error p006(3.10)

Good afternoon,

I have had my nest protect version 2 for some time and initially had trouble getting them added to the wifi. Eventually, they connected and all was fine for some time. Recently I changed my wifi setting and they have been outright impossible to connect. I have enabled IPV6, I have both 2.4 and 5 GHz bandwidths with separate names. I have removed them all( I have 6), reset them and restarted my router, modem, and removed my wifi extenders altogether. I attempted to connect/install using both my Android but also my laptop and nothing worked. They are 1 foot away from the TP-link wifi router. I am at a loss as to what to try next. I have redone them several times and over the course of several days spent over 5 hours attempting to set these up. I am near the point of using them for target practice and warning everyone that will listen that they are not worth the headache. Something I did not was as I search this forum for support these threads are locked pretty quickly and there appears to be little actual support. When I attempted to call the number on the next protect it notified me it was no longer in service and that I should check out the support website.

I beg you for support and assistance before I remove these permanently.

Hi Aodhagan,

Thanks for posting here in the Community forum, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Let me take a look at this for you.

I see that you almost did all the steps for this type of situation, but have you tried to also move all devices being used for pairing closer to the router before you restarted the router? If not, quit and restart the Nest app, move all Nest Protect closer to the router, and then restart the router. After that, perform a Safety Checkup on your Nest Protect by following this guide

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Zoe

Hi Zoe,

Thanks for the response. I had previously posted that the Nest Protect was 1 foot away from the router. Unfortunately, that did not help. Thank you again for the advice.

Please keep the advice and support coming.

Hi Zoe,

Thanks again for the attempted help. I wasn't sure what additional information was needed on that form other than my email and phone number. So, I added that and included my initial post as it clearly described what I have attempted and the poor results I have had. Thanks again.

Best of luck
