2nd Nest Thermostat cannot find WiFi

I have one nest on the first floor and a second nest on the second floor.

 

They were both connected to wifi and the app and working fine. Yesterday the nest on the second floor randomly disconnected itself from wifi. I have reset it, reset to factory settings, and reset the modem, but nothing works. Really frustrating that it just disconnected and won't reconnect.

 

There is no error code, it just spins on trying to locate wifi networks, but cannot find any of the 15+ saids in my home or neighborhood.  My nest downstairs sees all of them.

I'm sorry for the trouble this may have caused you — let's see what's going on.

 

Do you mind me asking the type of Nest thermostat do you have? Also, please give these steps another try:

 

  1. Go to the thermostat settings > technical info > power.
    1. Tell us the status of the battery level, Voc, Vin, and Lin.
  2. Tap and hold the screen for 10 seconds until it shuts down to restart.
  3. Turn on your phone's personal hotspot.
  4. Search for available Wi-Fi networks on your thermostat's network settings.
    1. Check if the hotspot is visible.
  5. If the same issue persists, go to Reset > Account Connection > Reset.
  6. Check for any message code under network.
