I have a similar issue.  I have a 2nd Gen and have not received a email with a discount code.  I have my serial #, where can I get the discount???

Arbitro95

isn’t it kind of crap that a device that works perfectly is being rendered obsolete for no reason, and they’re making us buy a new one just to maintain the functionality of the one that’s working just fine?

I haven't received an email from Google/Nest about this so called 4th gen upgrade discount since my 1st gen is finally done.  Makes sense,  tech changes gets smaller,  better.  The discount code would be really helpful right now though and I haven't receivedan email to any of my listed contact emails,  texts, nothing. I'm ready to buy NOW but I'm not doing it with out that code now that I know it exists.  Anyone know who or what department/people i need to reach out to to find out why everyone i know with nest have already gotten theirs but I haven't.

With out it I'll just be going with a cheaper brand with the same features 🤷‍♂️

Thank you for your time.

I’m in the same boat

I couldn’t agree more! When I bought my unit, I don’t remember reading that they could just turn it off whenever they felt like it. Google really ruined the nest brand. I’m arguing with online tech-support to get a free unit replacement, and if I don’t get one, I’ll just switch to a better brand.

Hi Jennifer, We are in the same boat as the above people.  We received a notification on the Nest app stating our Gen 2 Nest thermostat will reach end of support soon.  We have yet to receive any promotional code to purchase a Gen 4 version.  Can you please help?  I filled out the form you posted above.

Thanks in advance,

Glenn

Hi Jennifer

we too are missing the email with links to purchase new thermostats at a discount… any help you can offer is greatly appreciated

I have same issue!  Need to replace 2 thermostats by mid October because leaving the country for the winter!

Jennifer.  I have the same issue.  How do I apply for upgrade discount for gen 2 to gen 4

cannot find real help on this issue. the form does nothing.

I too am looking for the discount code so I can replace my Gen 2 Nest. I have never received an email. However, there may be an issue with my email

Re 2nd gen Nest obsoletion by Google: Can you please advise whether both  the heatlink box and the thermostat need replacing, or can I just replace the thermostat?

I am in the same boat with multiple Nest thermostats in a couple of locations.

Thanks Jenniffer - a related question:  If I do NOT take Google's offer to purchase a 4th generation nest T-stat, will I still be able to control my heat from my smart phone?

I am in a similar situation

I did not receive the email either.

I got an email today, but the link sends me to the google store help site.  It says to click the “gStore” link to order a gen4 nest.  Just sends me to the help page.  We have tried multiple times.

I have a question, why are you making customers who’ve already paid a ton of money on a device, buy a new one when the current one works fine. Google really ruined the Nest brand.

I have the same issue. Has anyone been successful in receiving a discount link? I never received an email and now the message on the app says it will no longer be supported later this year. Thanks in advance!

I have the same problem with my Gen 2 coming to an end. How to you get the upgrade being offered?

I started with a CHAT on the Google Nest Thermostat support page. Be very specific about your request. The CHAT will have a link for a form to complete. Within a day I received an email asking for specific info about your current thermostat-Model, Serial #. That can be found in the Nest app. Settings-->Thermostat-->Technical info. Within a day I received a code to use when purchasing.

What was your discounted price for the upgraded unit?

$163.86 including tax.

Had the same reply asking for more details ie serial etc but still haven't had a follow-up email with any discount code

I have multiple Gen 2 Thermostats.  The link that was sent to me is only allowing me to upgrade 1.

Yeah that sounds about par for the course. Nest used to be such a cool company until google took over. As a firefighter for eleven years, I have convinced countless people to get the thermostat and nest protect units due to the connectivity, and my reward is google making me buy a new one because they can’t be bothered to support a product I paid good money for. So much for customer appreciation.
