I got an email today, but the link sends me to the google store help site.  It says to click the “gStore” link to order a gen4 nest.  Just sends me to the help page.  We have tried multiple times.

Hi @Koffeegy,

Thanks for following up! I appreciate you letting me know about this situation. I have forwarded your message to the appropriate team, and they will reach out to you directly by email with an update on the case.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Best regards,

Jenniffer

I have a question, why are you making customers who’ve already paid a ton of money on a device, buy a new one when the current one works fine. Google really ruined the Nest brand.

I can not find the Emil from Google about the nest replacement discount. I have 2 2nd gen thermostats, and would like to replace them with 4th gen. Can you help?

I have the same issue. Has anyone been successful in receiving a discount link? I never received an email and now the message on the app says it will no longer be supported later this year. Thanks in advance!

I have the same problem with my Gen 2 coming to an end. How to you get the upgrade being offered?

I started with a CHAT on the Google Nest Thermostat support page. Be very specific about your request. The CHAT will have a link for a form to complete. Within a day I received an email asking for specific info about your current thermostat-Model, Serial #. That can be found in the Nest app. Settings-->Thermostat-->Technical info. Within a day I received a code to use when purchasing.

What was your discounted price for the upgraded unit?

$163.86 including tax.

Had the same reply asking for more details ie serial etc but still haven't had a follow-up email with any discount code

I have multiple Gen 2 Thermostats.  The link that was sent to me is only allowing me to upgrade 1.

Yeah that sounds about par for the course. Nest used to be such a cool company until google took over. As a firefighter for eleven years, I have convinced countless people to get the thermostat and nest protect units due to the connectivity, and my reward is google making me buy a new one because they can’t be bothered to support a product I paid good money for. So much for customer appreciation.

Same issue no email and not sure why we have to replace a perfectly good working device.

Haven't  received the link for a discount code. Same problem with my Gen 2 coming to an end. How to you get the upgrade being offered?

Does anyone know of a decent replacement for the Nest.  I have two of the Gen 2 Nests and on principle cannot see paying anything to replace a perfectly good thermostat.  I don’t want to give google my money. Any other brands people are using/considering?  I don’t know how this is even legal.

Heya I totally agree with you, I’ve been fighting with customer support for a couple weeks and have gotten nowhere. I’ve been looking at ecobee, seems like similar features, they have a few different tiers for different options. I’ll probably try them out, I’m with you, google doesn’t ever get a penny of my money.

I’m going with the ecobee too.  Gets good reviews, yes similar features and several tiers to choose from.  I hope that lots of people do the same.  We shouldn’t reward Foogle with our money for screwing us.

I also have not received the upgrade link to upgrade my 2nd gen learning thermostat.

I just filled out the form.

No discount code email here, have filled in the above form. Assuming Google still recognize the UK being in Europe. Feel kind of let down by Google that a fully working item is being binned off.

Good news.  I reached out to Google Support .  After I shared the serial numbers of the my nests.  They sent me a single code I could use to upgrade all of my Nests.  You should be able to get the serial number easily in the Google Home/Nest app

I have the serial number but I haven’t heard anything from Google in regards to to supplying it to them?

An update, just bought 4rth gen thermostat today, my offer came september 5th I paid $320 for 2 4rth gen , I found that reasonable and happy to update my old ones

4th Gen is not available here in the UK. No response from Google in regards to replacement or any sort of voucher. We have been left out to dry.

Nest was such a great company, sadly things went downhill when taken over by Google to the point that UK users have no real option of continuing with Nest. Having said that, the way we have been totally abandoned by Google means I wouldn’t never buy a Google related product again.

Abandoning a system that works perfectly isn’t exactly environmentally friendly all those thermostats going to the dump, and then they abandon the users of said product.

A pretty poor show all round!

I was having the same problem. I contacted support through the Nest web site. They instructed me to search “Google home” in my gmail account. Sure enough, I had received an email with a link to redeem the discount. When I first clicked on the link, the new thermostat opened in the Google store as full price. But when I added it to my cart, the discount was applied. Hopefully this works for all of you, too!

Need the rebate form emailed to me.

I’m still waiting for the discount link.

customer service is weak. I may just buy another brand.

Have same issue. Cannot find the actual email that has a link to the discounted upgrade offer to 4th generation.  How can I get another link to purchase?

I have 16 Nest thermostats in my home and have to replace 10 of them. I have been a long time heavy user of Nest. What a ripoff that I now have to buy 10 thermostats for a total of $1500. They should give me $200 off on each of them. I doubt there are any other heavy users that are being hit this hard. Is there a government agency that I could contact?

Hello. I’ve also not received the email with coupon code. I filled out the form as requested.

Update: I filled out the form. Chatted with a person on google chat support. In 2 days I received the email. Not sure if my chat or form was the catalyst, but I got the thermostat and am happy.

not sure this helps.
