I had Nest for a long time, moved to Ecobee due to the lack of Apple integration, and looking to move back because Nest (in my opinion) is a superior product and experience. That said, I cannot find a straight answer on whether or not the 3rd Gen Nest Learning Thermostat is Matter compatible and therefore would work with Apple Home.
On the product detail page itself, there is no mention of Matter at all (https://store.google.com/us/product/nest_learning_thermostat_3rd_gen?hl=en-US).
However, in the product comparison between the Nest Learning Thermostat and the Nest Thermostat (https://store.google.com/us/magazine/compare_thermostats?hl=en-US), it lists the learning version as Matter compatible and the non-learning version as not.
This seems to clash with online posts from Google indicating the opposite (see: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Home-Automation/Matter-Support-for-3rd-gen-Nest-Learning-Ther...). Before I spend a bunch of money on devices that won't get the job done, I'd like to figure out what the truth of the matter (pun intended?) is.

Well, I found the mythical Google Support chat. Here is what I received from them. Hopefully it helps save someone else some time:
Despite their product comparison chart showing this:
Support informed me the chart is incorrect and should be reversed:
In short and for searchability outside of screenshots, I was told the Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd Gen is not compatible with Matter, the non-learning version is compatible with Matter, and the comparison chart listed on their official site is backwards/incorrect.
