3rd Gen Nest Thermostat no code

Hello

NEST thermostat disconnected from app and when attempting to reconnect a code is not being issued due to system error.

System was rebooted and restarted.

when adding system details, my configuration without O B wires is not an option.  I believe this is what’s causing the service error.
It worked before the reboot, wires have not been touched, and now no code is issued for app connection,

appreciate your help in capturing a code for app connection.

Hi @MEspinoza,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Thermostat disconnected from the app and is failing to generate a connection code due to a system error, despite being rebooted. I appreciate you providing all the relevant information about your issue and confirming the troubleshooting steps you have tried so far. I'm happy to assist.

To gather the necessary information, please answer the following questions:

  • Are you using the Google Home or the Nest app to connect the Nest Thermostat to your account?
  • Could you please share a picture of the error message you are receiving?
  • Besides the reboot, have you also performed a full factory reset on the thermostat?

I'll be waiting for your reply.

Best regards.

Derick.

Hello Derick

Thank you for helping me out, apologies for the delay, this device is in my parents house and I’m just at their house now.

The device is a Gen 3, and not finding a code for linking to the app.

I have completed a full factory reset, reboot afterwards in attempts to try other routes.

I also rebooted the phone, deleted the nest app and started over, still the device will not show a connection code.

My dad is using the Nest app, when we tried google home app, it said to use nest for this generation device.

I’m attaching the picture of the error message, sorry it’s in Spanish.

Thank you for your help.

Hi there!

Thanks for your reply. I appreciate all the relevant information you shared, including the troubleshooting steps you have tried so far and pictures of your Nest Learning Thermostat. After viewing the pictures you shared, I was able to determine that you have a Nest Learning Thermostat (2nd gen).

The reason your thermostat is failing to connect to your account and is not issuing a setup code is the end of support for the Nest Learning Thermostat (1st and 2nd Gen), which began on October 25th. This means these models can no longer connect to the Nest app. While your 2nd Gen model can still be used manually, remote app control is no longer available.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best regards,

Derick.

Understood, I appreciate your time with this information.  Thank you!
