Like to review and determine how to get the Emergency Heat strip to automatically come on using the 3rd Gen Nest T-stat.
I have a 2 stage heat pump, Condenser models, GSZC703610AB, Air Handler models, AMVT42CP1400.
Does the T-stat have the capability to work automatically in turning on Emergency heat with my units. (1st & 2nd floor setup) Or must the T-stat, be open/removing of T-stat cover and manually move W1 wire to the asterisk *, manually whenever desire to use Emergency heat, which seems absolutely absurd.
My units are using two wires from outside heat pump to air handler. (there is no O wired with setup)
Air handler to Nest, Red to RC, Yellow to Y1, Green to G, White to W1, Blue to C. the heat mode and air mode work fine with this setup. The issue is how to get the Emergency Heat strip to work automatically. As there are no wires going to the asterisk *. I tried jumping the W1 and asterisk*, T-stat gave error message, indicated configuration wiring issue.
Looking for a resolution or determine if 3rd Gen T-stat not able to work with my units in an automated scenario for calling Emergency heat.

Hi Zboww,
Thank you for reaching out. I understand you need the auxiliary heat to work automatically, and I'm happy to assist you! Thank you for sending your wire labels, which will help me better understand your wiring configuration and check if everything is correct. Could you please also send me a picture of your HVAC system's control board and the wires connected to your Google Nest thermostat?
I look forward to your response.
Regards,
Manuel

Hello Manuel,
Any questions on the diagram provided. I'm using the same wiring scheme for my Air Handler, as diagram indicates in Figure 14, in wiring to my 3rd Gen T-Stat. All is working well, only the Emergency Heat strip is the issue with Nest Thermostat.

I've previously provided the wiring configuration setup for my T-Stat, was under the impression you're familiar with the 3rd Gen Nest product. Question, is it possible you can share how to get back in contact with Community Member, "AC Cooling Wizard"
Thank you Manuel

The wiring connections on the back plate are the same as had indicated previously in earlier message to you, wiring scenario for front wiring connections. Actually, I had already passed these basic questions you're asking, with the "Cooling Wizard" Platinum Product Expert.
He reviewed the unit documentation in detail, but we never completed a specific resolution. This was late last year that "Cooling Wizard initially reviewed. All the wiring matches up correctly with handler, T-Stat and outside units.

Hello Manuel, any updated status regarding use 3rd Gen Nest T-stat, Emergency heat scenario, functionality with my units. Is this T-stat, capable of being used with my complex HVAC system environment.
Review of technical manuals, regarding the communication environment between condenser and air handler for my HVAC units may provide a better understanding, if Nest T-stat is doable to automatically initiate Emergency heat mode. As mentioned previously, all else with units and T-stat works fine, only the Emergency heat mode setup with this T-stat having an issue.
Much appreciated, thank you.

Hi Zboww,
Thank you for continuing to post and for the information you sent. However, I need a picture of your Google Nest Learning Thermostat, specifically showing how you have connected the wires. This will help me better understand your connection and determine if you can use the Emergency Heat function.
I look forward to your response.

Manuel
