The Google Home app reports my thermostat as offline. When I go to settings, Network on the thermostat it lists my network nae and says that it is connected. I have reset the router and thermostat. I also rebooted the router. I also rebooted my iPhone.

Hi Joe43,

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I understand your Nest Learning Thermostat 4th gen shows it's connected to your network in the settings option, but the Google Home app reports it as offline. I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you've already taken. I'm here to help!

To isolate this issue, I have some questions for you:

  • Is your Google Home app updated? Please check out the following link for your reference: Update the Google Home app
  • Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near your Nest Learning Thermostat 4th gen?

Please keep me posted.

Sincerely,
Juan

I installed this 4th Gen thermostat on July 19th, replacing a first Gen unit. I have been unable to find out how to determine the version of Google Home that is on my phone. It would be the version that was at the Apple App Store on July 19th. I followed the " Update the google app" link but could not find the "Update" option when looking at the app at the app store. The current version 3.39.54 is listed at the app store. I also can not find out how to display the version that I am currently using.

There are no devices near my thermostat.

I had to Factory reset the thermostat. Remove the thermostat from Google Home and reinstall the thermostat to get back in business.
