AC not cooling

Fmayorga12
Community Member

I recently moved in and the house came with 1st generation thermostat. I added it to my google home app but I had to do the factory reset and add it to the app. Everything went good but when I turn on the ac to cool (70) it won’t blow any cold air just air. Like I said it worked perfectly before I did the factory reset and put it under my app.

Hi Fmayorga12,

Thanks for posting here in the Community forum, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Please answer the following:

  1. Did you try using the Help Center or troubleshooter before contacting support? If so, which steps have you tried already?
  2. When did cooling last work?
    • If newly installed
      • Check compatibility using the Compatibility Checker tool.
      • Gather all details of the old thermostat & HVAC system.
      • Check the make and model of the cooling and heating system, including the make and model for the, fan-coil or air-handler units.
      • Check if the HVAC system might be using a multi-speed or variable speed fan.
  3. Did you  turn off the power to your HVAC system?
    • Are the breakers turned on?
    • Did you recently experience a brownout or blackout?
    • Did you have any construction or maintenance work done on your home?
  4. Do you have a photo of your old thermostat? Make sure your Nest Thermostat is wired correctly and verify that the display is receiving power.
  5. Do you see any code or message on your thermostat?

Also, please collect the power readings of your Nest Learning Thermostat power readings from Settings > Technical Info > Power and list down the following:

  • Battery
  • VOC
  • VIN
  • IIN

I'll look forward to your response.

Best,

Zoe

Hello,

As of right now I have an hvac come out to see it. Not sure what happened exactly after I did the factory reset on it. I shouldn’t have done the factory reset on it and it would’ve stayed working.

Thank you for checking in but it seems like the problem is my HVAC unit and not the thermostat.
