AC not turning on during the day….so strange!

Hi Everyone-I’ve been reading through others issues, but haven’t seen my problem. My AC goes off during the day for no reason. I have the temperature set at 72 but often find the temperature in the house will reach 80. If I play around with the thermostat it goes on. No problems at night. I am not set up on any network with the nest. Any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem. I have it connected to my Google Home app but if I try to set it to Cool it just says "delayed". I've turned off all the schedules and tried to turn off all of the automation stuff but it just let's my house turn into a sauna all while still somehow rocketing my energy bill into the clouds. This doesn't have to be a difficult thing. The user instructs it to cool the house to a desired temperature... do that. Easy.

I found that the solution my Installer gave me worked after I did one additional thing.  I saw a post that had a solution similar to what my Tech said. Tech told me to turn nest off from the app or the wall then turn back on but put in echo mode. The first times it did nothing until I read a post here that said the same thing but also put Eco mode low as possible. I lowered echo to 70-76 and the system is working great since then!

My Nest is  3rd gen and goes into stage 2 cooling but not turning on and house is 86 degrees. This lasted all night but started cooling the next day. Tech came out but system was cooling. Tech told me to cut off and put in eco mode but that’s not cooling either. Later this afternoon it’s off again and when I turned it off then back on it says delayed. My heat pump and air handler are new and I didn’t have this problem with my older hvac system. This is ridiculous. My system is a 2 stage heat. It has a fan and handler.  I can turn on the fan but that does very little. Is this some type of software glitch?
