Adding Family member to Nest

I've added my wife as a family member in Google home per the guidance. There's no option either in Nest or Google Home to share access to Nest.

This is incredibly frustrating.

Hello Naseby,

 

I'm sorry to hear that you're also experiencing an issue inviting your husband as a home member. Let's sort this out.

 

In the Google Home app on your phone, make sure that you're logged in with the same email account that's connected to your Nest app. Ensure that you are in the structure where your Nest device is connected before sending invites. If you don't see your Nest device on the homescreen, check for other available structures. Check out this guide.

Hi Jake, I'm having the same issue of sharing access to nest camera's. There is no option in the family section to add a member. Maybe instead of asking if people are still having issues you could just explain how to fix it?

Yes it appears that several people need help in doing this. Not very clear as what steps to take. My wife has been added to Google home but as mentioned no option to share the Nest camera. Please advise. Thank you Jake.

Having the same issue. Added wife in Google Home app, but she isn’t getting an email or prompt to add herself to the Nest.

I’m running into the same issue.  I invited my wife and daughter from google home into my household.   Google shows all 3 of us as members, but my daughter is not able to view the camera feed as me and my wife are.  

at first I thought it was because she was using a non gmail account, but even after switching that, still nothing.  

can someone help here?! 

is there a limitation of family members you could have?

do all family members need to be over 18?

One thing I forgot to add, although I see all 3 of us in a household via google home app.  I only see two members in the Nest App under family.

my guess why my daughter can’t see the live feed is because she’s not a family member.

Hi there,

I have a similar problem. We have the Google Home app for quite some time and added my family in this app. Works fine. Recently installed a Nest Hello door bell.  It functions fine...but I cannot connect my family members to it. They see the doorbell in the home app but cannot open it (its "gray" not "blue"). When they download the Nest app they cannot make an account and I cannot add members to it. Because they already exist in the Google Home app. Hopefully someone can help me! Thank you in advance.

I have the same problem set up husband in Google Home app but he does not appear in the Nest app so when I am ‘away’ from home the heating goes to eco mode - needs sorting
