Adding Nest Thermostat to Google Home

I bought a Thermostat on Friday and had installed (I am a UK resident) - all connected to the Nest App, but I want to add my partner and need to apparently sync to Google Home - it's asking for the QR code/Security Code and it's not possible to find this. The thermostat is on a stand - there is no way to find the code via the thermostat itself or the Nest app - are google products meant to be this difficult?

The thermostat is already setup, so using the add new device option in the Home app won't work and you don't need to do that.

If you're using the same account in the Nest app and Home app, you should already be able to see your thermostat in the Home app as well. If not, try these steps:

  1. Force close both apps and re-open the Nest app, followed by the Home app
  2. Check if your thermostat is listed under a room name or under "local devices"

To share your home with your partner, they will need a Google account or a Google account to be associated with the email address you invite. Follow the "Invite members to a home" steps at the bottom of this help article.

Hope this helps!
