Adding a family member to Home App

I cannot add a family member (my wife) so that they can control the newly installed 4th generation Nest thermostat and smoke alarms on their iPhone

It seems that there are constant issues with this process and many many frustrated users.

Can I install the home app on her phone and log in as myself on her phone...so that both phones have the same user logged in?

I was able to add my wife after resetting the devices and creating yet another personal google account. I think that the problem was originally due to the fact that our provider, Telus, although using gmail, was part of a 'managed workspace' and therefore the invitations sent were interpreted improperly. I imagine that moving forward, as users move from earlier generation Nest thermostats and are also engaged with Telus "gmail" that similar problems may appear. Thanks indeed for your speedy reply....
