Adding a user to be able to do settings

My wife has HOME nest thermostat where she can manage all settings. She added me to HOME, but I am unable to do any settings. She tried to invite me, but it said "try again".  I want o be able to have both of us be able to do settings from our individual I-Phones. Does anyone have a solution that works? Mr Vacca suggested a solution but that didn't work.

Do you have a Google (gmail) account? That's a requirement in order to be invited to a Google Nest household, and for some reason, when a non-gmail account is entered, users get a vague error instead of being told "A Google (gmail) account is required."

I do have a gmail account.

When you say "She added me to HOME", it sounds like she added you to her "household", but then you say "She tried to invite me".  So I'm not sure whether you're in her household or not.  If the invite failed, has she tried again?

Do you have just one Google Nest "home/structure" set up in the Google Home app and are both you and your wife connecting to that same "home" in the Google Home app? Do you show as a household member when your wife goes to Setting | Household in the Google Home app? When she selects you in Settings | Household, are you set up as a "Manager" for "Access Details" and under "Device access", is your thermostat listed?

Are you able to see the thermostat in the Google Home app? If you select it, do you get a different view than your wife?

Mpls: we were finally able to figure this out and I was added to my wife;s account as a full blown user with ability to settings. Thank you for all your help!

When my wife had a choice of "HOMES" that were on her i-phone for the nest thermostat, she was choosing the wrong one as there was a drop down that showed three "HOME" options. When she chose the correct "HOME", all went well after that and I am now all set up!

Yes, we still don't have a solution as to how to add me for full use of setting to my wife's HOME app.

Edward: we were able to finally figre this out and I am now added to my wife's account with full ability for settings. Thank you and everyone for your input on this!
