During summer, I had my thermostat set to "cool only." In this mode, I could lock the thermostat so people could only change it between a 5 degree range.
That was awesome. People felt like they had control and could bump it up or down a degree, but not go crazy with it.
However, now that its winter, I turned on "heat + cool" mode. Now, when I lock the thermostat, it does not allow any adjustment while it's locked.
How can I allow a couple degree-range of change at the thermostat itself, when it's locked?

Hello Dave2023,
It's nice to see you here in the Google Nest Community about the lock settings in the Nest Thermostat. This is a really cool feature that allows you to prevent anyone from changing the temperature settings without your permission.
So I did find a helpful article about the Lock and Unlock your Nest Thermostat with the Heat*Cool mode. Please check that out and let us know if you have more questions about the temperature range.
Best,
Mark
