After changed Nest Learning Thermostat, Heating isn't working.

Hello Everyone.

I recently replaced the old Honeywell thermostat with the Nest learning thermostat.

After that, the heater doesn't work when I turn up the temperature. Only Fan is working

1. I would like to ask your opinion if the wire connection is correct.

2. And when reading the location, should I read Conventional(upper lane) or heat pump(bottom lane)?

3. I tried that change from O/B to W1 on the NEST, but Heater still not working.

There are 7 wires below as;

1. Black wire is connected to the terminal Y2
2. White wire is connected to the terminal W2
3. Green wire is connected to the terminal G
4. Orange wire is connected to the terminal W
5. Blue wire is connected to the terminal C
6. Yellow wire is connected to the terminal Y
7. Red wire is connected to the terminal R
8. R and RC wire are Jumped.

Hello DJIM,

Thank you for reaching out and providing detailed information about your recent thermostat replacement with the Nest Learning Thermostat. I understand that you are currently facing issues with your heater, and we appreciate the effort you've put into troubleshooting.

To address your concerns, I'd like to offer some guidance:

  • It's crucial to ensure that the wires are correctly connected to the corresponding terminals on the Nest Thermostat. Please double-check the connections against the Nest Thermostat installation guide to verify their accuracy.
  • When reading the location, you should consider the type of HVAC system you have. If you have a conventional system, read the upper lane. If you have a heat pump system, read the bottom lane. Confirming this information will help in correctly configuring your thermostat.
  • While changing the O/B wire to W1 is a step in the right direction, it seems that the issue persists. In addition to this change, try moving the white wire to the W1 terminal and performing a restart on your thermostat to ensure it detects the wire.

If you have any further questions or require additional assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Best regards,
Mark
