Purchase a Nest 3rd generation replacement base out of warranty

Hi, I saw a similar topic that was locked, so starting a new one.

I've just been through the wringer with chat support, who exhausted all means available to them, but could not assist.

I have a Nest 3rd Gen (out of warranty) with a faulty base that I'm trying to replace. The thermostat itself is fine as I've tested it on other wired bases (I have three thermostats). There seem to be NO out-of-warranty purchase options, and the links to Store appear to be 404.

Is there any other option to purchase a replacement base versus paying the exorbitant eBay prices that are out there?

The Google Store doesn't seem to sell that part anymore. ( I believe they did at one point but not certain)

If the thermostat is out of warranty, support would be hesitant to replace. Besides 3rd party, I don't know of any other sources.  Possibly a local installer may have ideas. Ontech is an installation partner for Nest,
