My air conditioner does not kick on unless my Nest Thermostat senses me approaching. It is not connected to WiFi, so that has nothing to do with it. I have another nest thermostat on a downstairs unit and I have no issues with it. What could be the problem with this thermostat? It is less than a week old.

Jack F - I simply went to Settings, and turned off the "Home/Away Assist" option. Haven't had an issue since...

I will try that. It's weird, I took back the other thermostat and had it replaced and it worked fine for about a week or two. After that, it reverted back to doing this. I'll keep you posted as to whether or not this works. Thank you
