Hi,
I’ve had my thermometer for a few years now and it was lovely set up etc.
i used to say to Alexa ‘Heating ON’ and ‘Heating OFF’ and it was simple, even Alexa change temperate to ## and it works great.
this year it’s all change for some reason and could figure it out.
I managed to figure it out, but you now need to say ‘Thermostat on’ and thermostat off and its just different rather then just saying heating on and off. Is this recently changed? Or what can be done to make it back to normal?
thank you

Hi @Mart0787!
Thanks for posting in the community.
I’m sorry for the inconveniences that you’ve been experiencing when trying to control your Nest Thermostat using Alexa. I can see that you were able to turn off and on the heating just using voice commands through your Alexa. This year this changed, and you are not able to use these voice commands anymore. I’m glad to help you in this.
When using Alexa to control the Nest Thermostat, you have to keep in mind that it won’t change to Off Mode; then it means that you won’t be able to turn off the thermostat or the heating using voice commands. However, you can say, 'Alexa, change the [thermostat name] to ___ degrees,' and say a really low temperature, then it won’t turn on the HVAC system. When you want the HVAC system working, then you can ask for the desired temperature.
You can check the next article for further information: Control Google Nest products with Amazon Alexa.
Tell me how it goes.
Regards,
Daniel.
