Just had Nest Thermostat installed with a new furnace, looks nice but reading the wrong temperature by 3.5 degrees Celsius. Rather that go through the pain of dealing with google or a return , I just picked up a sensor and use that RIGHT NEXT to the thermostat and it works and reads the correct temp - $50 fix for what shouldn't be a problem, but there you go.
I purchased another sensor intended for the bedroom and set it up adjacent to the thermostat and the other sensor, and wouldn't you know it?....yep... reads a different temperature as well.... so I have 3 devices that all read different temperatures in the SAME location.
EVERYTHING has been reset...and added again with the same result (not really a surprise). I can swap the two sensor to each others location (within a 3-4 inch radius!...no change - so it can't be environment)
I have to ask why can't Google allow the owner to calibrate the thermostat and sensors as they see fit? If Google are unable to manufacture a basic working thermometer then at least help the purchaser to help themselves!!
I think I am going to try another product, because, at the end of the day, google is failing on both hardware AND basic customer service.
