App offline,Nest connected... Can't read on any device

So for the last 2 weeks my Nest thermostat shows offline on the app, Google Home and Alexa... But when I go to the actual thermostat it's connected. I've reset, changed and checked the router and this issue persists. It's really bothering me I can't control away from home. Please help, any assistance would be most appreciated.

I’m having the same problem accept with an iphone. Has been working fine till about 2 days ago… now the app says offline but the Nest thermostat say online and connected to wifi and functions fine. I’ve rebooted, reset wifi and router. Etc. i believe i have a 2nd generation nest Thermo.

I am having the exact same issue. 3rd gen learning thermostat. Had it installed about a week and it was fine but last two days the app will randomly show offline but the actual thermostat is online and fine. And I’ve tried it all. And when the app is online it doesn’t seem to send the thermostat updates I make.

Hey there,

I wanted to follow up and see if I could be of any help. I found an article with some troubleshooting steps. Please let me know if you are still having any trouble from here, as I would be happy to take a closer look and assist you further.

Best regards,
Jake

Hello, I've followed the trouble shooting in the app. I've tried to hook you Nest up on my mobile hotspot and it did work but everything on my router checks out. Battery, voltage and everything all followed from the troubleshooting still have the same issue

The thermostat is online. The app just says it’s not. It will randomly show offline in the app, the connect itself back. The entire time the thermostat shows it’s still online. Then once app does show online .. it doesn’t communicate with thermostat.

Yesterday I restarted it and it worked for an hour or so. Which lead me to just reset the whole thing and it worked until sometime during the night, it disconnected again. The thermostat itself is still connected and heating

Hi there,

@ALB1019, I'm glad to hear that everything has already been sorted out.

@dminutivehrtbrk and @Kalib, please try to do ALB1019 did and let us know if that helps.

Best,

Zoe

What we need is clarification on what settings need to be reviewed and updated. I have not done anything to my router other than replace it and that was almost a year before this started. Can you please share what steps we should try?

Hi dminutivehrtbrk,

Thank you for your response. Please check the connection strength of your Nest Learning Thermostat. On your thermostat, press the ring to open the Quick View menu, then select Settings, then Technical Info, then Network. Check for two numbers: ping speed and signal strength. If the ping isn’t available, you can check the Nest Weave connection instead by going to Settings, then Technical Info, and then Nest Weave. Then, check the status.

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Zoe
