App says not compatible, but wiring seems simple

Hello, I just bought a Nest Thermostat and tried installing it. I submitted data based on what color the wires were instead of what terminals they were connected to. This made the Nest only recognize the furnace. So I tried inputting data of which terminals were being used on the old thermostat, and I was informed that it wasn't compatible. The wiring seems simple enough for it to not work. The nest I bought offers Y,c,w,g,r, and ob. Thanks for any help getting this working!

Based on your description, you've bought the 2020 Nest Thermostat model, which should be compatible. The app will have told you its not compatible as I suspect you'll probably have entered the jumper wire connected between RH and RC. Nest Thermostats don't use jumper wires, so don't select that you have a RC wire and the app will then show you how to connect the wires. Also, just to confirm, you need to be using the Google Home app for setup, not the Nest app. Hope that helps!
