Aux heat shuts off prior to target temperature

Now that it’s gotten cold enough where the heat pump will not heat the home to the target temperature on its own I can feel the aux heat kicking in to help reach the target temperature. That’s great and exactly what needs to happen but just before it reaches the target temperature the aux heat shuts off and the target temperature is never reached. This is resulting in the target temperature never being fully reached so the heat won’t cycle off then turn on again when needed. I have tried balanced, max comfort, and turning off balance and trying aux heat lockout but they all do the same. Anybody know how to solve this so it reaches the target temperature and finishes it’s cycle?

Hey there,

Sorry for the trouble. I wanted to follow up and see if I could be of any help. I found an article with some troubleshooting steps. I also found an article with more details on heat pump balance. Please let me know if you are still having any trouble from here, as I would be happy to take a closer look and assist you further.

Best regards,
Jake
