Had a Nest thermostat for a couple of years, installed professionally and work’s brilliantly. My query is that my boiler is constantly on, even though Nest is only calling it twice a day for water heating (no heating as it’s warm enough to not need it). What could be causing this, could it be the original Honeywell thermostat controlling it? Should the old thermostat be switched off? Thanks 😊

Your system sounds a little odd, if installed by a Pro!
The original thermostat should have been removed, as there is no use for that at.
Are you UK?
Are you sure it's a Honeywell thermostat, and not a programmer?

Hmmm, dredging through my memory the thermostats that controlled heating were replaced by the nest units. The Honeywell thermostat left is next to the boiler and was the one controlling hot water but nest now controls the hot water. I can’t seem to turn that thermostat off no matter what I try and do, it’s like it stuck on an endless loop of calling the boiler constantly. Odd.

Are you sure it's a thermostat, not a programmer? Does it show a heat setting like a thermostat or does it have times for example? i cannot see any thermostat being installed next to a boiler!
I suppost the easy answer, turn it off/pull fuse and see what happens.

Where are you located? In the US/Canada or the UK/Europe area?

Again we cannot determine which country the poster comes from!
Perhaps yet again a suggestion for a UK/USA seperate section!
