Both thermostats giving E45 error messages!

Both of my thermostats are giving me e45 error messages. This can’t possibly be correct. A couple of days ago, it was saying that my drip pan was either full and not draining, or that I had a blockage in my drainage pipe. I confirmed that my drip pan was not the problem and I poured bleach water don’t the drain pipe and blew air through it to unclog whatever might’ve been there. Water is dripping out so neither of those seem to be the issue here. My thermostats both turned off by themselves after like a day and now I’m getting e45 messages on both of them. None of the wires are dislodged. I have no earthly idea what could be the problem now. Anyone able to help?

Hello Katelaa,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry. I'd love to know more about this.

It appears that your thermostat detects the wires mechanically but not electrically, or the wires may not be in the terminal properly. Could you please share with us a photo of your thermostat's wiring? Make sure that all wires are properly installed and the tabs are pushed down.

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,
Mark

Update. Hoping this reaches the interested people who replied to my message. Figured it’d be easier to do it this way.

So, had a good friend of mine who has some experience with A/Cs. He diagnosed the issue and determined that the problem was not the thermostat but the A/C itself. The first thing that made sense was either the c-wire or a blown fuse. It was the fuse and it cost me $3.50 to replace (came in a pack of two). So glad my friend helped me with this! Could easily have cost me more. Hope your issues are as easy as mine to diagnose and as affordable to fix!

It looks like we can consider this one complete, so I will lock the thread within 24 hours unless I can help out with anything else.
