C wire issue

Hooked up the c wire power adaptor and it’s still saying I need to hook it up it’s not reading that it’s hooked up.

Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest Thermostat isn't recognizing the C wire, even though you've hooked up the power adapter. I'm happy to help!

 

To better understand the situation, I'd like to ask a few questions:

 

  • What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?
  • What is the make and model of your HVAC system?
  • What other types of wires are connected to the thermostat?
  • Is there an error message on your thermostat display?

In the meantime, let's check this tip: 

 

  • Correct Terminal: Double-check that the C wire is connected to the correct terminal.
