Can G wires be added if you don't have one?

My home came with a Nest Thermostat already installed. For the first time since moving in, I wanted to turn just the fan on and am not able, as it doesn't show the fan option on the thermostat. My google search said that I must have a G wire to run the fan without Heat/AC. When I took the face off the thermostat, there was no G wire connected.  Is this something that can be added if you don't appear to have one?

@SBS

If you want to run the fan manually, a G wire must be installed.

Post a picture of the thermostat wiring.

Thank you. The thermostat doesn’t have a G-wire attached but I am have spoken to a specialist about the possibility of update the wiring to support using the fan without ac or heat and believe I have a solution. I appreciate the responses and support.
