Can I control a smart switch (electric heater) when the Nest Thermostat turns heating on?

I have a smart switch on a heater, in a quite cold room (converted garage). Is there any way the Nest Thermostat calling for heat could also switch this heater on?
I've added the correct smart switch app in the Google Home app

I'd still like to know a solution. If there's any way a smart switch could be operated by the state of the heating from the Nest thermostat?

I am sorry to hear you are still running into the issue. I would be happy to take a closer look and help out. You said you have already added the device to the app, do you mind me asking if you have gone through the steps below to finish the setup?

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap your plug or switch.
  3. At the top right, tap Settings   Device type.
  4. Select the desired device type from the list  Next.
  5. Enter a name for your device  Save.

Please let me know if the device is working after completing the steps above, as I want to ensure you are good to go.

Best regards,

I have several smart plugs, and can control them by voice or by app - but that wasn't my question.
I wanted to know if the plug could be switched by the status of the Nest Thermostat - when the heating is called for, can a plug be switched on?

I came to your post looking for something similar except for air conditioning.

To all looking to have Nest 3Gen control 120VAC -0r- 1240VAC (be it heat or cool)

If you have some electrical savvy -  (1) the Nest needs 24VAC for its power, then (2) you need the Nest to Power on/off the 120VAC(240VAC) device (heater or AC)  Look, and study this - there are two versions one is 120VAC other is 240VAC - Be careful - lots of luck.

https://www.warmlyyours.com/en-US/publications/NEST-INTEG-WD-A.pdf  The RC840T-120(240) is all you need
