Can I use the same base from my previous Nest that i am replacing with 3rd Generation . Bases look

I am replacing Nest that came in the house.  The Nest I bought is the 3rd Generation. Can i use the old  base with the   new base; as the connections are the same  rather than replacing the base with the new base.

If the original thermostat was a 3rd Gen Learning thermostat you can.

It's better to use the new base plate as it will have all of the latest updates, including updates to the printed circuit board.
