I have two Nest E thermostats (1st Generation) in two locations (different addresses)
Up to about a week ago, I had both thermostats connected to the Nest app on my android phone, and everything worked perfectly. Last week, we were in one of the locations, and the thermostat indicated it was "offline". After several attempts to get it back on-line (verifying wi-fi, etc), I removed the Nest thermostat from the App. I attempted to re-connect the thermostat to the app...and I get "something went wrong"...and to retry. (several re-try attemps have failed to resolve the issue.
I then installed the Nest app on my wife's phone (identical phone to mine). The app connected to the Nest thermostat quickly and without issues.
Both phones using the identical version of the Nest App, and both phones have identical operating systems and updates.
Question: has the Nest app changed and prevents two thermostats on two separate networks from connecting?
Any advice on a resolution would be appreciated.

Yes, you can use the same account to setup and control them but you'll need to create 2 separate "homes" within the app for your two homes, otherwise you'll experience issues connecting them to Wifi during the setup. Here's how to do that:
At the top left corner of the app home screen, tap the Menu down arrow.
Next, at the top right corner, tap Add +
Tap Continue.
Give your home a name > tap Next.
Enter your new home's address > tap Next when you're finished.
Choose if you want to use your phone’s location to help with Home/Away Assist for your new home.
If you have a non-migrated account, you’ll be asked if you want to invite other people to share access to your new home. If you don’t, you can always invite them later.
Once you’re done adding your new home to the app, you can add Nest products to it.

Thanks,
Spent a lot to time trying to figure out the 2 nest tstats on the same account. This was the answer….thanks again.
My second stat would not sign on the network……..no matter I did. Until I created a second home, then sign on was done in seconds.
