Hi WAG,

Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear about the inconvenience that you are experiencing with your Nest Thermostat Gen 1 not connecting to the Nest App. I understand how frustrating this situation can be . But don't worry , I can help.

Hera are some steps that you can try:

  1. Make sure your internet service is working
  2. Check your app version
  3. Restart your Nest thermostat
  4. Restart your router and modem
  5. Check the settings on your Wi-Fi router or access point

You can check the "Can't connect Nest thermostat to the app" for more detailed information.

Please let me know if you've tried these steps or if you have any other questions. I'll be more than happy to help.

Best regards,

Jenny

Hi WAG,

Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry for the situation. But don't worry, I can help. In this case you can find the QR or the 6 digit code with the next steps:

Follow these instructions to set up the Nest Thermostat:

  1. On the Nest app home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Tap Add product. The app will switch to a camera view to scan the thermostat’s QR code.

Finding the QR Code or Pairing Code:

  1. On your Nest Thermostat:
    • Press the thermostat to open the Quick View menu.
    • Select "Settings" and then turn the ring to choose "Nest App".
    • Select "QR Code" and your thermostat will display a unique code.
    • Follow the remaining on-screen instructions in the Nest app to complete the setup.

Alternatively, if you don't see the QR code option:

  1. On your Nest Thermostat:
    • Select "Settings" from the Quick View menu.
    • Choose "Nest App" and then select "Get Entry Key". This will display a 6-digit code.
    • Follow the remaining on-screen instructions in the Nest app to complete the setup.

Please let me know if you have more questions, I'll be more than happy to help.

Best regards,

Jenny

Hi WAG,

Thanks for the update! Yes, you can reset your account settings to unlink the Nest Thermostat. However, this will require you to re-set up the thermostat through the Nest App.

You can use the same steps I provided earlier to guide you through the re-setup process.

Please let me know if you have any questions or need help along the way.

Best regards,

Jenny
