Can’t connect thermostat to WiFI

Rbgruber

I have had this thermostat for about 7 months.  I have another one for the upstairs.  One has disconnected from the internet.  I have reset and rebooted and reconnected my thermostat, the Nest app,my router and points.  Nothing will work.

It’s so frustrating!  How do we get support?

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the trouble this may have caused you. Could you please go to your Nest Thermostat Quick View menu, and highlight the gear icon for Settings, then check if you would see any messages or code there?

@Cmatuer, you can try that as well.

Best,

Jenelyn

Hello there,

Thanks for the update. To further check your Nest Thermostat's connectivity, you can try connecting it to your mobile hotspot.

  • If your thermostat connects to your mobile hotspot, the issue may be with the Wi-Fi configuration, and you may have to contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
  • If your thermostat still can't connect to the network, please let me know.

Regards,

Jenelyn

This did not work either.  The thermostat is shutting done once a day.  I have to manually restart it.
How can I get it replaced?

Hey Rbgruber,

Maybe that's the reason why your Nest Thermostat won't connect to your network. Were there any instances that your thermostat shows low power? If your thermostat has a battery level below 3.7 V, it will not connect to any Network. Please go to your thermostat Settings then look for Technical Info and select Power. Let me know what the readings are there.

Our team would love to process a replacement as long as your Nest Thermostat is still eligible for that. We just want to make sure that there's no underlying issues with it.

Best,

Jenelyn

I have 4-Nest thermostats in 2- homes.  One home is forced air natural gas.  The other is a boiler with natural gas.  3 have failed and had to be replaced.    Are there known defects?

Hi there,

Thanks for that information. Your Nest Thermostat power readouts are fine. You can also check that on your other thermostat. We'd like to investigate this case for you. Please fill out this form and let me know if you're done.

Regards,

Jenelyn

Hi Jenelyn,
