I can't upload Google home on my iPhone 6. I need Google home for the nest thermostat.

Sorry, I'm just another Google Nest customer and we don't have a Nest thermostat, but unfortunately, it looks like iOS 12.5.1 is the most recent version of iOS that the iPhone 6 can run, and the Google Home app requires iOS 13.0 or later. Google Nest should really list iOS 13.0 as one of the requirements for the Nest Thermostats, rather than just "Phone or tablet running iOS or Android".

If you have the Nest Learning Thermostat, it looks like you can control it with the Google Nest app, and the Google Nest app can run on iOS 12.0, which can run on the iPhone 6:
