Can't log thermostat on Google home app.

Hi

I have a thermostat that is currently working fine on the nest app. I have had a nest mini speaker supplied as part of the new boiler install, but can not get the thermostat to link to the home App.

Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Use the nest app instead.

Thanks you really shouldn't have bothered replying, but seems a bit pointless if nest mini and thermostat are part of the new boiler installation and they don't work.

@Luca4, thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with using your Nest Thermostat on the Google Home app. If you're using the same account on both apps, your Nest Thermostat should automatically show up on the Google Home app.

Thanks. Yes it should but it doesn't?

My Google account shows nest was given account access, but still no use

@Luca4, since the same email accounts are confirmed to be logged in on both apps, try checking for other available structures where your thermostat might be connected in the Google Home app. Check out this guide on how to switch homes. If none, going over these tricks here might help:

 

  1. Open the Nest app and create a test home. Follow the steps on this page.
  2. Open the Google Home app and navigate to the other structure created from the Nest app.
  3. Select Leave or Remove This Home from the Settings menu.
  4. Close and reopen the Google Home app.
