I try to migrate my nest account to this Google account and it says it already has a linked Nest account. It doesn’t. Is there a way to remove whatever it thinks is linked to my Google account so I can migrate? I have home automation that will only work if my nest devices are linked via Google.

If things are working correctly, the error you're encountering means that the Google Account to which you are trying to migrate has already been used or is being used to manage at least one Google Nest device in the Google Home app or the Google Nest app.
If that IS the case, Google Nest says you can do this:
Use the Google Account that’s linked to another Nest Account.
1. Sign into the Nest app with your Nest Account.
2. Disconnect all your devices.
3. Sign out of the Nest app.
4. Select Sign in with Google sign in with the linked Google Account.
5. Reconnect your devices.
