Can't permanently disable Seasonal Savings

Everything in the Help page is wrong.

"You’re always in control."

Marketing happy talk.

"When you see the Seasonal Savings notification. If you don’t want to participate, you can choose No Thanks to opt out of the program altogether."

The app notification didn't contain a No Thanks button. See this screenshot of the notification.

Three weeks after that notification, I got a notification saying that Nest has finished adjusting the schedule, with no No Thanks button. See this screenshot.

"To stop using Seasonal Savings. Nest app. 1. Open the Nest app. 2. Tap your thermostat and select History. 3. If Seasonal Savings is running, you will see how many days remain and a Stop button."

The History doesn't show this.  See this screenshot.

I have always had Auto-Schedule off. Seasonal Savings should be Opt-In, not Opt-Out, and I know next season I'll have to go through this rigmarole again.  Google knows best, but I'll be looking for another product.

Hello johnrolfeellis,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry.

I understand your frustration with the Seasonal Savings feature on the Nest app, and I'm sorry to hear about your negative experience. Your detailed explanation, along with the attached screenshots, clearly highlights the discrepancies.

I suggest reaching out to us via the Contact Us Form, providing them with the screenshots you've shared here. They would be able to assist you in understanding why the "No Thanks" button was not present or why the Seasonal Savings adjustment notification lacked the expected options. Additionally, they could help troubleshoot the issue with the History section not displaying the relevant information. Also, I completely understand your frustration with the opt-out nature of Seasonal Savings and the inconvenience it causes. You can ask them to cancel it for you.

Let us know if you have more questions.

Regards,
Mark
