Cannot complete configuration

I am having the same problem that is described in this post:

Screenshot_20221103-080918.png
There's no input field in which to input the "last 4 characters" that I'm being asked to "choose" (odd verb choice for these setup instructions).
Unfortunately, the issue in that post was never resolved.  Any ideas?
Things that I have tried:
  • restarted the home app
  • cleared the cache and storage
  • reset the thermostat back to factory settings

Hello cjkriesesf,

Thank you for taking the time in letting us know about your inquiry. I'd love to help.

It appears that you're trying to add your thermostat to the Google Home app. If you have the Nest Learning Thermostat, it can only be added to the Nest app, and you no longer need to set up the device from the Google Home app. As long as you're logged in using the same email address on your as the thermostat, it should automatically appear on the Google Home app.

Try checking the other available structures if you can't see your thermostat from the homescreen. Check out this guide on how to switch home structures.

Please let us know if it works.

Best results,

Mark

Hi there,

I wanted to follow up and see if you are still in need of any help. Please let me know if you are still having any trouble from here, as I would be happy to take a closer look and assist you further.

Best regards,

Mark

hi, after talking to a Nest support rep on phone, I did add the thermostat with the Nest app. Although I could not directly add the thermostat to the Google Home app, it appeared in the app sometime later after the addition via the Nest app.
