Can anyone help please?
Our nest thermostat has been working absolutely fine for the last 3 years until suddenly this week. It is orange in colour as normal and shows the temperature it is set to heat at but the boiler does not turn on. The heat link is connected and has a green light. When we press the heat link button the heating will come on. Is there anything we can try to fix the thermostat issue please?

Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out. I'll do my best to get this resolved. Please go next to your Heat Link and turn the heating on and then off. Let me know if you can hear a click sound coming from it.

Thank you so much! Yes, it does click when we try and turn the heating on.

That's good. It means that the thermostat and Heat Link are working how they're supposed to. I'm thinking that you might have a stuck valve. I suggest to ask a local installer or a Nest Pro to have a look at your heating system. They'll get to the bottom of this.

Thank you for your help. We can force the heating to come on by pressing the heat link and the heating does then come on - would this happen if we had a stuck valve please?

If you have a Y plan heating system, your valve might get stuck into a position where it will only start your heating when both your hot water and heating are turned on. Each time you hear the click sound coming from the Heat Link, it is sending the signal to your boiler. A stuck valve is one of the possible causes. An installer will tell you for certain. As long as you hear a click sound coming from the Heat Link, it works as expected.
