Cannot pair Nest Thermostat 3d generation with Nest App on iPhone

Nest Thermostat was installed, paired on my Nest App on my iPhone and worked for months. Then for some reasons I had AC malfunctioning and reset the Thermostat for troubleshooting. Found out it was the relay of the AC the issue. So once it was fixed the thermostat worked fine but for some reasons can’t pair it again with my iPhone Nest App. Here below the screen that appears when the attempt fails.

Changed the router (although it was working with the same one earlier and I have another two that work fine and are synced on the same app). Deleted and reuploaded the app on the iPhone. I have attempted all possible troubleshooting but nothing. I am at a dead end. Any suggestions? Anything I have missed? Thanks.

Hello! I have finally solved the issue. I have installed the same apps into an Android mobile after having the Nest Connect disconnected for a few days (till the battery was gone) and it worked. I think this is not good for a Google product. They should do something about this. It’s definitely a defect that should be addressed.

Hey nsiotto,

Thanks for the screen shot and for trying those steps you've specified. Let's check this message further.

TD030 means that the assisting device your thermostat uses to communicate within a thread network is powered off or your phone and the assisting device are on two different Wi-Fi networks. Do you have other Nest devices set up on your Nest account? If yes, what is it?

I would also recommend going through the suggested steps below:

  1. Make sure that the assisting device is powered on. If it isn’t, charge it or connect it to a working power source.
  2. If the assisting device isn’t in use, remove it from the Nest app.
  3. If you have more than one WiFi network, you may have to move your phone to the same network the assisting device uses.

If you still get the same code after trying the steps above, check this out for more suggestions: https://bit.ly/3oukGAo
