Cant lock my new nest thermostat with a pin code

I believe i have the newest gen of nest thermostats its just the nest not the e or smart one from what i can tell but nowhere in the software can i find the lock feature like i have been reading about are there some nest that dont have that feature ? Or am I just not doing something correctly . I don't want my kids turning it down to destroy lol.

The newest model, Nest Thermostat (2020) which is setup in the Google Home app, doesn’t have a feature to lock the thermostat unfortunately.

Thanks for reaching out. The lock feature is only available in the Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E. However, the Nest Thermostat 2020 has a feature called hold. This is convenient if you want your thermostat to ignore scheduled or automatic temperature changes for a while and stay at a specific temperature.
